“This tour included three stops: the railroad station, the diamond district and the Jewish quarter. The first part of the tour was certainly not a Jewish tour as compared to the end. We visited a community center, two bakeries, a deli, a Judaica store and a Holocaust monument. Out of the 10 of us, we (two couples) were the only Jewish people who knew more than the guide. We were happy to relate some honest information on our laws and customs. The guide was very nice and understanding; I believe she realized she was out of her element by reading her notes from a book.”
